2/18/2024 0 Comments 2014 jeep grand cherokee overland![]() As the car only required drain and fills for the tranny and not the whole drop the pan and change the filter mess, I did drain and fills regularly an easy 15 minutes every once in a while. Only reason I kind of homed in on this transmission thing is because I had a car that did not have a prescribed change interval but just to inspect and change if needed or something like that. ![]() Sounds good to me lol since its not a maintenance item. So my question is when this 8 spd on this Grand Cherokee blows up at 130,000 miles from fouled fluid just tow it to the dealer and the Maximum care warranty will cover it as this is fill for life fluid right? Don't even give a thought to any type of trans service under normal use? Sounds strange to me but that's what it says and maximum care is unlimited miles/years. I am not a big believer at all in fill for life fluids. Now I typically keep new vehicles a long time usually about 9 or 10 years and as such have always done regular trans fluid changes as I believe this is often a neglected area of maintenance that can lead to issues later in a cars life. However change the fluid and filter if the transmission is disassembled for any reason." Routine fluid and filter changes are not required. Under normal operating conditions, the fluid installed at the factory will provide satisfactory lubrication for the life of the vehicle. ![]() Ok so I have been going over the maintenance that will be needed on my 2014 5.7 Grand Cherokee and I noticed that there is no recommended change or check for the transmission fluid on the 8spd, doesn't even have a dipstick.
